You are in a period of constant learning and being part of new environments. It is an overwhelming process. But you need a clear and sensible head. You need to lay down goals to focus on your learning efforts and direct your progression.

Personal Goals

You are no longer a kid. You are a working adult who is responsible for your actions. You need to set overarching goals that give meaning to your life. Starting and raising a comfortable could be one, travelling the world and enjoying it could be another. It's up to you and nobody else's. Career Goals

These are based on what excites you when being part of an industry as well as the growth and benefits from the position in it. It shouldn't be purely based on pay but instead look for a more wholesome solution to this massive issue.

What excites about my current position? What can I learn from it? What is it missing? Do I like the industry I am in? Is it growing? These are the kind of questions you need to ask yourself.

For me, pay is of course important but having that responsibility to achieve goals as well as a supportive leadership and defined team structure is essential. This is so that I am able to economically support me and my relationship but also stay happy Monday - Friday and not just live for the weekend.

Financial Goals

Money is one of the most powerful forces in the world. It can get you a roof over your head, it can bring you around the world, it can help you support those you love.

But to have a focus to this force, one needs to decide what to do with it and how to work towards it.

Financial Independence is the economic state whereby you no longer need need to work to support your lifestyle. If you have an investment portfolio that delivers the necessary returns or properties that can give rents then you can be financial independent. Obviously this might seem a task too big for you but the most important thing is to work out a plan to reach your goals. Plans have a magical effect of making things not so daunting and can help translate your efforts in constructive actions.
