Having a bit of money can help somebody travel, buy a car, and yes, go on dates. Dating might seem like a good way to use your money, time, and attention but simply going on costly dates to impress will be detrimental to your financial future.

All it takes is a couple dinners and you could be done for the whole month. Here are a couple tips to find love in a cost efficient way.

Parks, Parks, And Parks

Within KL, we have an abundance of nice green spaces to enjoy somebody's company while breathing in nice fresh air. Whether it be a demanding hike in Bukit Gasing because both of you enjoy a good morning workout or a simple evening picnic at Taman Titiwangsa to eat and take pictures, look for these parks.

Also after a long week of work, a nice walk could be exactly what both of you need to mentally relax and re-energise each other.

Our country is filled with natural beauty and all it takes is a little bit of planning and preparation is have a special experience with somebody you care about.

Please Avoid Cafes I know there are cafes for everyone in KL. These hyped up eateries with their hipster menus and interior decorations. Instagram might be made about them but that doesn't mean you have to. If you look at the menu and are comfortable with the prices then by all means go for it but if you know that you can't then stay away.

All it takes is a couple desserts and it can mess up your budget.

Use Savings Apps Like Fave or The Entertainer

With these services, you can get a really good deal at a range of establishments. Whether it be a nice bar, quiet restaurant, or relaxing massage, you can get pretty much anything from these apps without breaking the bank.

It ain't being cheap. It's called being resourceful with your own money.

Don't Date To Impress, Stay Humble

Your friends might be showcasing on social media them taking their dates to fancy bars and restaurants and sparing no expense throughout the time. That's fine. Let them do them.

You have a budget. You have finite resources to finance this endeavour. Be responsible to yourself because at the end of the day, if you over spend then you are the one who pays long term. So please recognise the societal pressures to impress and confront it with a mature mindset of being financially responsible to yourself.
